COVID-19 Update for Uplift Active
To our Uplift Active Family,
As a practitioner of aerial arts, you are no stranger to safety and preventative measures. Each of us accepts a certain element of potential danger every time we mount an aerial apparatus, and we all take great care to prevent unnecessary risk.
But during this time of pronounced uncertainty shared by the entire world, life can get overwhelming. As a general safety reminder, please take extra precautions to keep you and those around you safe.
Shipping Updates
We are open and shipping to most countries worldwide, with normal shipping times to most destinations. This page will be updated as we get more information. Updated: January 22, 2021.
Shipping companies around the world have been experiencing high shipping volumes with limited staff to handle the increased demand. Shipping to most areas have returned to normal, but there is a risk that COVID delays may persist into 2021, in particular, impacting international packages, as international flights are still limited. Carriers are not guaranteeing delivery dates at this time, and estimated delivery dates may not be guaranteed, but we are updating information to be as accurate as possible.
Please see the product description for more details, delivery times vary by product.
Please contact us before ordering if you have questions. We can ship by TNT, UPS, Aramex and FedEx internationally depending on available options.
We're working hard to get packages sent as quickly as possible. If you do not see your country as a shipping option at checkout, contact our team by email to check availability. Sometimes, our shipping system at checkout does not fetch all rates for international packages. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
We will keep you updated on any changes and will update our website accordingly.
Safety Tips and Equipment Cleaning
According to the CDC, the best way to prevent coronavirus disease is to avoid exposure. Wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds or more, especially after being in public, or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. (Don't have any hand sanitizer? Make your own!) Practice social distancing, wipe down your cell phone often and wear gloves when touching public surfaces, car handles, etc. Avoid touching your face as much as possible.
It is more important now than ever to properly clean and sanitize your aerial equipment, especially if sharing with others.
- Cleaning Fabric
The only way to completely sanitize fabric is with soap and water. We recommend washing on gentle cycle separately with a Woolite detergent. Hang to dry or tumble dry on low.
Fabric sprays may help clean the fabrics in a pinch, but they cannot completely sanitize. An old circus trick is to make a spray of 3-parts high proof vodka (ethanol) to 1-part water. You can add a few drops of your desired essential oil, like tea tree oil.
Never use isopropyl alcohol on aerial fabric; it can damage and discolor fabric.
- Cleaning Metals
Hoops can be untaped, wiped with an alcohol sanitizer, and retaped with fresh tape. Aerial Rigs can be wiped down with an alcohol sanitizer.
Aerial Studio Safety
The group fitness and entertainment industries have taken a major hit. Our hearts are with everyone affected in this difficult time. But remember: This too shall pass! Many studios are taking this temporary downtime to dive into spring cleaning, perform equipment safety checks, and make inventory updates.
Studios, gyms, and fitness centers are closed around the world. Though traffic is reduced, continue to practice enhanced sanitation methods, maintain distance between you and others, and always enforce hand washing up to the elbows before and after you work in the space.
Studios, now is the time to plan for the future. Take this time as a respite from day to day craziness and use it to hone in on your vision for the future, and knock out any tasks that have been on the to-do list for awhile.
If you’re a student, please consider purchasing an aerial class pack from your favorite studio for future use. That may just be the thing that helps them pay rent next month.
Home Aerial Practice
Establishing a home aerial practice is a wonderful opportunity to avoid a disruption in your personal practice. Keep the good energy flowing with a home set up. Our Height Adjustable Aerial Rigs makes it quick and easy to have your own home set-up. You can get some great exercise, you can even set up outdoors in the fresh air.
For those with an existing home aerial studio, consider updating your gear for Spring. Share your practice with us on Instagram by tagging #upliftactive. We are all here supporting one another.
We extend the best well wishes to each of you!
