This is the same soft, silky, and incredibly durable fabric as used in the Cirque du Soleil. Beware of other products made of stiff, cheap, thin, or scratchy parachute fabric. Our hammock is wide enough for a 6'2 person to lay completely in the fabric as seen in the first photo. Our yoga hammock fabric is lightweight and breathable, but very strong. What Size Do You Need?

Sizes vary depending on preferred hammock height. Here's a reference for hip and low height hammocks. Remember we tend to use about 1.5-2 feet/.6 meters of fabric in aerial knots, but we get some of that height back depending on how you rig your daisy chains (doubled over or lengthwise).

Please note: the longer the fabric, the more difficult the height will be to adjust. If using in a studio setting or somewhere you will need to adjust the height often, consider getting a shorter fabric (7 yards or under) and using additional rigging to provide extra height.

10-foot/3 meter ceiling height = purchase 5.5-6 yards (18 feet) of fabric.
11-foot/3.35 meter ceiling height = purchase 6 yards of fabric.
12-foot/3.66 meter ceiling height = purchase 7 yards of fabric.
13-foot/3.96 meter ceiling height = purchase 7 yards of fabric.
14-foot/4.26 meter ceiling height = purchase 8 yards of fabric.
15-foot/4.57 meter ceiling height = purchase 9 yards of fabric.

Always measure out for your own ceiling. This length accounts for fabric only; if you are using rigging equipment that takes up more space, you may need less fabric.

How can I hang my hammock?

Rigging should always be completed by a professional rigger. For yoga, daisy chains can be wrapped around a weight-tested beam, a aerial rig, or professionally installed ceiling bolts. Check the mount every time you use this hammock to ensure the rigging is secure and the hammock shows no signs of damage or wear. Aerial fitness can be dangerous, so exercise caution and always check with a doctor before use. Do not iron your hammock.

Since there are many different types of overhead environments, Uplift Active cannot provide instructions on how to rig a hammock in your space. Not all environments are suitable for aerial rigging. You must hire a licensed contractor, or professional rigger to examine your space and determine the proper hardware for safe installation and use. Uplift Active is not responsible for any injuries or harm caused by the improper installation or use of this product.

Height depends on personal preference. For most aerial yoga classes, we recommend that the hammock falls about hip height - low enough that you can bend over in a forward fold, but high enough that your head will not touch the ground when inverted. Hammock height is easily adjustable by using different loops on the daisy chains that come with each hammock. If you are purchasing the silk fabric hammock, you can further adjust the height by increasing the amount of fabric used in your knot. Some studios will raise the fabric higher for more aerial style classes, or lower to knee height for restorative yoga

Wash on cold, gentle cycle. Hang dry or tumble dry on a cool setting. Be sure to remove the daisy chains and carabiner before washing. Do not iron. We recommend washing every 2 weeks of regular use, or as needed. Hammocks can be refreshed between classes with a cleansing spray.

The package with rigging equipment is about 5.0 lbs. Each product we sell may have a different user weight limit, so please check the specific item you are interested in. Hammocks are tested to hold up to 400-600 pounds safely. Typically, the strength of the location you hang the hammock will be weaker than the hammock itself. Please be careful hanging the hammock that your weight will be supported.

A bit Slippery

The material seems sturdy, but the texture isn't what I expected. I slide a lot more in this fabric, than what is used at the training center I go to.
